Resource Kit: Evolution and Creation

Evolution Creation Header

These theological perspectives can engage evolutionary biology, critique some of its philosophical accretions, and thereby help us understand the history of life on our planet. We emerge with a richer conception of the image of God, the story of Adam and Eve, and ultimately what it means to be both part of creation and its stewards.

Here are some engaging materials for your congregation on evolution and creation: Church of the Servant lectures by Daniel Harlow, Jeff Schloss, Brian Madison, Arlene Hoogewerf and Scott Hoezee. View the First Presbyterian, Fort Collins lecture by Holmes Rolston. Berkeley Covenant Church’s “The Creation and Evolution of Life,” Part One and Part Two, is also located there. You may download Dawson Memorial Church’s “Origins” curriculum notes. For something brief and engaging, see the short video Unity of Humanity by Berkeley Covenant Church.
